"It isn't what you have,
or who you are,
or where you are,
or what you are doing that makes you happy or unhappy.
It is what you think about."

Blessings of Bilingual Children
Today, I asked LD what he wanted for lunch after church and he cheerfully responded, "How about....ice cream!" After a politely told him "No" multiple times, he came back with, "How about...helado (Spanish for ice cream)!" How cute! He does this frequently...asks for what he wants in one language and if he doesn't get it, asks in the other!
I just live for those little funny moments with kids. That is exactly why I love working with kids. Hilarious things happen every day, and you couldn't dream these moments up!
They are ingenius little creatures, too, huh? And much smarter than we give them credit for, even when we think we know how smart they are. ;)
Hmmm... my little ones haven't tried that one yet!
We are looking at moving into a school district there in Texas with Spanish Immersion classes so that the children don't lose the language skills they have gained here in Mexico!
I am a happily married LDS SAHM of six kids (17-year-old girl, 15-year-old boy, 12 year-old girl, 9-year-old boy, a 3-year-old girl, and a 2-year-old boy). I love life. I am truly blessed to know my Savior, Jesus Christ. I desire to spend my whole life in service to Him. I love my children with all my heart and dedicate myself to being the best Mommy I can be...it is a daily challenge, but one I cherish.

did he get some? :)
That is so cool, it is truly a blessing! Does it ever work for him? or does he still get a polite no?
