While the cat's away...the mice shall

PLAY!

DH has a seminar all weekend. And, crazy though it is, I have never slept in any of our homes without him. I have gone with or without the kids and he's been home, but I have never slept in our bed without him...EVER! Knowing how darn emotional I can be and how much I would miss him, I decided to put this night to good use and invited a few friends over for games and food. We ended up with only a group of five and it was a huge blast! I am so grateful that I have such great friends. We didn't even take any pictures...we were having too much fun talking and playing. It was really a fun, relaxed, and laid back evening.

Now, it is after midnight and I am subbing in Primary tomorrow (still need to read that lesson!), as well as conducting in Relief Society(gotta get those announcements down). I also have the last load of laundry in the dryer and stuff to read before tomorrow's lesson (five conference talks this time! Yikes.). Oh well, when I finally fall into bed I will be so exhausted (hopefully) that I won't miss DH too much!

I totally get what you feel like when you're husband's gone. I hate it when Mark is gone also. You hear every little noise!!

WOW, I'm so use to Brian being gone that I actually sleep better without him. It's a sad situation but true. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

I know I never sleep well when my hubby is gone and he has traveled quite a bit in our 25 years

True Story: The last time Ben was gone, I went into our gun safe, unlocked it and retrieved his shot gun. The shot gun was in a zipped cloth case, which I unzipped for quick usage if necessary. It remained by my side of the bed all night. I did not sleep well that night.

I never do when Ben is gone. I just don't feel safe. I have this recurring fear that someone will sneak into our house as I sleep and steal my baby, silly I know...

On the flip side, having the bed all to myself is kind of nice for a while. Ben is a restless sleeper and totally hogs our full size bed, (He tells people we're cuddly sleepers, but to be honest I'd love a bigger bed. I need the room) Plus, sometimes he randomly awakes with a start and about makes me pee the bed from fright. And once, when I was pregnant with Jackson, he rolled over abruptly and smacked me in the face!
