Spring Break Days 3, 4, & 5

It has been a wild and crazy week. Life was already crazy and then all three kids and I came down with a cold. Not mild, but not horrid, either. It just adds to the craziness.
Wednesday, Day 3:
We ran a few errands first (bank run and Sam's club) then we picked up breakfast and ate it at the park and played.

We then went to meet my sister at a mini-train. I worried that it would be crowded since it is near the zoo and it is Spring Break (I even left 30-45 extra minutes early), but I had NO IDEA just how much traffic there were would be. All the exits anywhere near the area were stopped. The freeways all around the zoo were barely moving with the increased traffic. Needless to say we nixed that plan.

We met her instead at a local health food store, but it was also incredibly crowded. We could barely turn around in many places in the store since there were so many people. It was nice to see her and the kids were so excited, but it was very anxiety-inducing. Thank-goodness the day was salvaged when they came to our house on their way home and everyone could just play.

Thursday, Day 4:
Thursday, we went with a group of friends from church to tour a local bread factory. It was very cool. So many thousands of loaves of bread in there at all times. It was somewhat hard to see and a little hot. We did get to wear very flattering hairnets and helmets. I would have loved a picture of my friends and I like that. It was fun.
Friday, Day 5:
Friday, we went to a local indoor water park with some friends. It was cool since we brought one of K's best friends with us and another of her close friends ended up being there, too. The three of them had so much fun. One of C's best friends was there, too, so the big kids really had a great time. LD was scared at first, but then decided that splashing was the best! I loved sitting in the hot tub with friends, although it is difficult to relax much when keeping a very watchful eye on the kids. Even though they know how to swim, there are lifeguards, and they were with buddies, I still get nervous and have to check on them.

I cannot have imagined a crazier week with trying to fit fun stuff in, normal life, and the sickies. It wasn't the Spring Break we imagined, but we managed to have fun! :)

It looks like you had fun, even if it didn't turn out the way it was planned. Your little ones will always have great memories of their spring breaks and a reason to look forward to next year's!

Sounds like a pretty good break especially the water park.
