We began our trip on Saturday, June 30th. Thank goodness that my mom flew out to drive with me to Colorado. I had only slept about 4 hours that night and was averaging slightly more than that for each night during the previous two weeks. The drive was pretty much uneventful. We ran into construction in southeast Colorado and sat (without moving) for 45 minutes. Luckily we had plenty of gas and since we knew it might be awhile, the kids got to climb around the van and get some kinks out that way. The drive took 16 1/2 hours...ending at my parents' home in Colorado. LD cried the last hour out of sheer anger about being in his car seat yet again!
